In the heart of the Priorat, where the slate soil (llicorella) catches the sunlight and keeps the memory of time, our small family winery was born. Among mountains and century-old vineyards, we cultivate with care and passion a legacy that began generations ago.
At Mas d’en Gil Estate, in the village of La Morera de Montsant, our vines ,some over one hundred years old, sink their roots into a rugged yet generous soil that gives life to wines of great depth, intensity, and history.
Our winery, located in Poboleda, is the soul of this shared dream. Here we craft limited productions, cherishing every detail, every grape, every moment of the process. More than wines, we create emotions that speak of our land, our family, and the deep respect for a tradition that lives on in every bottle.
The Vineyards
The vineyards of Bodega Crivellé i Valls, family-owned, host vines up to 90 years old of Garnatxa and Cariñena/Sansón.
They are located in Poboleda and La Morera de Montsant, within the historic Mas d’en Gil estate, part of the DOQ Priorat.
The diversity of the vineyards is remarkable, with steep slopes and slate soils, as well as flatter areas with loam and slate soils.
A distinctive practice is selecting the best old vines for new grafts, maintaining the genetics of the oldest and most balanced varieties, even if this involves a more limited production.
The orientation of the vineyards takes advantage of the “Garbinada” sea breeze, contributing to a later ripening and freshness in the wines.
Poboleda, the birthplace of the wines of Bodega Crivellé i Valls, is located in the heart of Priorat, in the northeast of the region. Situated near the Siurana River and surrounded by natural formations such as the Montsant mountain range, it enjoys a distinctive microclimate.
The “marinada” or “garbinada,” a cool summer breeze, moderates the temperature, providing ideal conditions for viticulture. Its northern geographic position, compared to other municipalities in the Priorat, results in a late harvest, beginning between 8 and 12 days later than in more western areas.
